Flags of Art
Flags of Art was a large-scale artistic statement created for the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milan-Cortina. This project was a collaboration between the Südtiroler Künstlerbund and Eck Museum of Art.
Fifteen flags by artists from South Tyrol, Veneto, and Lombardy were shown at the entrance to the Antholz Valley - where the Olympic Biathlon competition took place - from December 2025 till March 2026.
The flags explore themes of diversity, nature, community, respect, responsibility, as well as the challenges of major sporting events.
My flag ‚Formenfroh‘ is a celebration of the positive values, which I associate with the Olympics: friendship, respect, love, and peace. The artwork shows colourful, simple shapes on a bright, orange background. The bold colours and simple design make the flag easily understandable for people of all ages and cultures.
