The Dreamers

In times of crisis and hardship, dreams seem to be something that we hold on to. When our freedom of movement is taken away from us, when we have little control over our lives, and when isolation becomes a norm, we are forced to open the doors of our imagination.

This series of people and their dreams, reflects the human aspect of the Covid-pandemic and worldwide crisis, which started in 2020. Most of the time, when we talk about dreams, we think of sleeping, when we are taken to another world, where our memories, experiences and thoughts flow together.  But during the pandemic and lockdown, dreams started becoming a recurring part of our daily lives. We began creating stories in our head of things we desire, places we wished to go to and things we hoped to do. We used dreams to remember and long for … a world that is no more, a life we had, simple activities we did, that seemed banal and that we took for granted. Through our dreams, we can get away from reality. And we can create our own safe and beautiful place to escape to.
