Flags of Art is a large-scale artistic statement created for the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milan-Cortina.
Fifteen flags by artists from South Tyrol, Veneto, and Lombardy fly at the entrance to the Antholz Valley - where the Olympic Biathlon competitions take place - from December 2025 till March 2026.
They explore themes of diversity, nature, community, respect, responsibility, and the power-as well as the challenges-of major sporting events.
I am so proud to have been selected to be part of this project with my flag ‚Formenfroh‘, which shows colourful, simple shapes on a bright, orange background. The shapes represent positive values such as friendship, respect, love and peace. The use of bold colours and basic shapes means the flag is understandable for people of all ages and cultures.
