All different - all women!

I’m very happy and honored to have been asked to support this years edition of ‘Brixen Women’s Run’ with my art.

My painting “Fly away” will be presented to one of the race participants as the “Angelo Di Valeria” prize.

The artwork I created for this occasion, is about feeling free, letting go and leaving everything behind you.
My message is that all women should be content and in harmony with themselves.

Wall. Flowers. Mauer.Blumen.

I started this year by taking part in a residency for female artists at the fortress of Franzensfeste in South Tyrol. The theme of the residency was “Courage” and I decided to interpret this word using flowers.

Flowers in this project, became a symbol for women. Both grow in all types of situation, regardless of the circumstances around them, they push their way through, whether it’s sand, soil or stone. Even though flowers look delicate and fragile, they are actually very strong and very courageous. They withstand a lot of hardships and they bloom, giving us colour, love and happiness.

I made the flowers using paper, papier-mâché, wire, beads and wood. Each flower, just as each woman, is different and has its own character.

The contrast between the fortress and flowers was also very interesting and inspiring. A symbol of war, powerand masculinity joining hands with something colourful, delicate and feminine.

The title of the piece I created is “Wall.Flowers.” This refers to the flowers growing out of the stone, but also to the situation of many women, who are often left on the side. With my artwork, I would like to give recognition to these women.

My 2021 of Art

This was a year of painting, scribbling, markmaking, line drawing, being expressive, being courageous, crossing boundaries, working on paper, working with paper, cutting wood, bending wire, meeting people, using zoom, feeling up, feeling down, needing colour, giving interviews, signing paintings, choosing frames, exhibiting in a field and also in a shop window, learning new things, talking about dreams, showing myself, hiding, adapting, being flexible, feeling grateful, sprinkling glitter …

Thank you 2021 for allowing me to experience all these moments and thank you to all the wonderful people who made all this possible for me!
